Set OOP, Missed C/R Flop, Board Goes Bad

Villain is 16/13/3.5, missed check/raise on the flop obviously. It’s easy to say in hindsight lead flop, but I’m not sure that is the right move on this board. How do you play this river?

  • Check call a reasonable bet (up to 2 thirds of pot) but not really expecting to take it down if he bets. The board is so coordinated and I’d expect to see a higher set a lot of the time here.

I enjoy reading your blog btw and have added a link to it from mine. Any chance of a link back ?

    GL at the tables :)

  • you should lead this flop cos u’ll get calls from like QK, any 9 etc. which won’t call a c/r. c/r on this board is ugly too cos he can flat with a wide range n then ur lost or dubious on a lot of turns (spade, 8, T, Q, K) or have ur action killed whereas b3b lets u get it in before that
