MCC 50-Year Member Lunch

I went along upon the invitation of my grandpa to the Melbourne Cricket Club’s lunch for it’s 50-year members, of which he is one. I had to get suited up for the occasion, which is becoming a rare event these days. The lunch was held in the Member’s Dining Room, which I hadn’t been into before, despite being a member. The guest speaker was former Geelong player Barry Stoneham. I was easily the youngest person [...]

Crisis Over – The Recovery From A ‘Recession’

I made a post the other day ruing my bad luck and some poor play. I’m pretty sure I suffered my worst poker downswing in history (in turns of buy-ins, not just dollars). I think after a few good sessions that period is behind me now. It really was pretty gross some of the hands that I went through and I was starting to doubt my abilities to win at this level, but thankfully my [...]

Agent Orange Cricket Match Report

It has taken  me a few days to get around to writing this entry, mainly because it was such a depressing match. I really thought we had improved to be a lot better than this, maybe we just had an off night, but even so. I must take responsibility for changing up the batting order first off, removing Brad and myself from opening and replacing with Berge/Mike (who had been a stronger partnership so far [...]
