Poker, The Great Leveller

Yesterday was ecstasy, today was brutal. I rate my play a C+, but I took a lot of beats and all things considered played alright with a few sloppy hands thrown in. I won’t bore you with the details of the beats, instead I’m going to identify and explain some of the leaks in my play from the last few sessions.

  • Getting myself into tricky spots by not continuation betting the flop
  • Double barrelling the wrong players
  • Calling too much when I should be three-betting pre-flop
  • Trying to keep pots small when they are already big and I should be shoving to protect my equity
  • Calling the river a bit too much with ‘bluff’ catching hands
  • Over-estimating fold equity in certain spots
