I got up at six this morning and rushed out the door to go and line up for Conan O’Brien tickets. When I got there, there were 17 people in front of me already. They only hand out 75 standby tickets per day, and I reckon by 7:30 there was well over 75 people in the line. At which point logic would dictate that you give out the tickets and send everyone home. On a pristine Saturday morning I decided that I’d work up a bit of a sweat going for a run in Central Park and maybe see some parts that I missed the other day. There were masses of people walking, jogging, rollerblading and bike riding along the paths and roads. I went back over my list of things to do in New York that I made before I left in Australia and I had listed down the Staten Island Ferry. On further research, a lot of places said it was THE best way to see the Statue of Liberty and not only that it’s free. I caught the subway down to Lower Manhattan again, the station is inside the ferry terminal so that was easy. [...]

Central Park was really a pleasant surprise; I guess my expectations were lowered after Boston Common. The place is huge, so big in fact that I was there for a few hours and I wouldn’t have even seen half of it.
